Roger Gifford is President of Gifford's Ice Cream, which has earned numerous national and international "First Place" and "World's Best" awards for its premium ice cream and sherbet. Over the past 60 years, the Giffords have built their family business into Maine's largest ice cream company with sales of 12 million. Their ice cream is available at local supermarkets in New England and several hundred ice cream stands throughout New England, New York and New Jersey, including The BALSAMS and Meadowbrook. Today, eight Gifford family members work for the company. Roger has been involved in all aspects of the Gifford family’s dairy business since childhood, and he has been co-owner and President since 1983. Roger and his brother John have provided the general management for the dairy since the early 1970s.
Roger is a past president and director of the Maine Milk Dealers' Association and the All Star Dairy National Association. He is the Chairman of the Board for Skowhegan Savings Bank, and he is a Redington Fairview Hospital board member.
Roger and his wife Peggy live in Madison, ME, and have 4 daughters.
